Continuing the Cover

I remember in March, several years ago, when I first met Mr. B he was asking us what we wanted to hear him play (as a matter of fact, right after this song on this night). I asked him, “Play a song that you like to play.” He, in turn, played this song. I almost fell over on the curb. It cracked me up quite nicely. I wish I had recorded it then, but, this will have to do.

Anything you want to hear? See? Find?

Sorry for the lack of updating. I have recently returned from the Windy City last weekend, and with working 12 days straight, well, it can take a toll on ya. I think I have one more Sour Mash Hiaku thing to send out, otherwise I think that’s pretty much done. I hope for those who got one liked it. I’m thinking about putting together a DVD of Cory performances that I, and a couple other folks, have taped. These will be given away in a future contest though.

Anyway, I’ve been saving this one for a warmer introduction and with today’s tempature in the Carolinas going to hit near 90, well, why not today. This is…Summertime:

And since I didn’t have a post or download last week…whatever you do, don’t click here.

Much love,

Management

*P.S. - Youtube was retarded slow yesterday, so the video didn’t post until 8pm or so, and well, the Soprano’s finale was on. It’s up now.

Cory Branan loves and supports Nuclear power. The night before he had played Charlotte, which this was probably about exactly 12 hours pre-tour of the nuclear power plant known as Sheron Harris.

Truth be told, I think we both were pretty sketchy on going on a tour of the place. I had it booked before he got here in March, and we were supposed to go on tour with like 10 or 12 other people, but, come 10am…we were the only ones there. The lady was quite surprised, as she admitted that she didn’t think we would be the ones who made it, but she let us walk around for a spell. This is the entrance to the interactive area:

We played with the tests and the ‘interactive’ displays. It was pretty cool to see that something as small as say something this big [ ] was the energy equivalent of 2 tons of coal or like 3 - 50 Gallon drums of oil. It was just nuts, and the only by product, aside from some semi-reactive waste was steam. This came from the cooling tower shown here:

Cooling Tower

She, the tour lady, then pointed us to a huge screening room where we watched this VIDEO which we did. We had some questions, she gave us some nuclear waste pellets, but, wouldn’t let me keep them. We then, kind of mistakenly, went to see the cooling tower on the tour lady’s suggestion. Her quote was something like, “Go down take a left, but, don’t get too close. The guards like to have some ‘action’.” This originally scared us, simply because as you walk in there is a 6 foot poster of a guard with an M16 and bulletproof armor…but, we were like ’screw it’ and went to see that thing. It must have been 50 Foot Tall, or more…well, a lot more, probably.

In all seriousness, this guard jeep came flying down the road once we got near the barbed wire. So we whipped around and drove steady out to go play wii boxing with the lovely energy that the plant provided.

Lord bless Nuclear power.

Weekly Download-n-Stuff

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Well, I’ve been listing to this song for most of the week. Or should I say that the iPod mass-shuffle gods select this track more than any other. It features Cory Branan, and one of my favorite folks yelling out requests. I was actually listening to this very song that inspired me to do this:

Bald Eagles and Sabertooth Tigers

I’m at home today with the lil’ miss, so while she was down for an afternoon nap, I checked out the movie ‘ATL‘. Couldn’t stop thinking about ‘Skateland South’ comparisons, and well, it was a decent movie. It would be like if you took Hustle & Flow, added a dash of You Got Served, and set it in a Rollerskating Rink in Atlanta Georgia. Great flick…check it out.

In other news, Cory’s myspace has been pimped. Some really nice graphics, new pictures, and a link to the diner. You can quick launch there by the right side bar.

Alrighty…enjoy the download…and again, suggestions are welcome.

Love,

Management

Drawin’ in close as Christmas Day

Monday Morning Wake-up

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Well, trying to get this posting thing to be fairly regular so that you have reason to come back and visit. Let’s see, couple of things new today…remember I told you that Cory played two songs on WKNC 88.1 when he was here a couple of weeks back? Well this is the second song he played, which was ‘Tall Green Grass’.

On a second note, thanks to the request of Plank 10 (a lovely diner here), I have been scratching my head over how to send, and or deliver, mp4 movie files for ipod and iTunes to other diners. Well, I gave up and did a yousendit file, so if you’d like ‘The Walkaround’ for your ipod, you’re in luck, and you better act fast….1 week…100 downloads at this link here:

And lastly, I found the Angel Synthesizer thing. I had put my iPod on shuffle and heard the lyric…memorized where it was, and now have a bead on it. So maybe next week that will be the download of the week or something. Either way, keep your comments coming and your ideas as well…and talk to each other for goodness sakes!

Love,
